"Woke Up Black" followed five black youth for 2 years. During that time, they witnessed interaction with family members, educational institutions, and the legal judicial system. The directors of "Woke Up Black" provided a rare opportunity to hear youth speak out on some of the important and potentially life-altering topics. The film fills the void that the media has created in regards to African American youth ideas, attitudes, and desires.
After the viewing, there will be a Q&A session with the director of the film and two of the film's cast members.
